The size 5/O hook is a strong piece of tackle and is chemically sharpened for a clean and secure hookset. For Conger use the trace as is but for Tope add 5 - 6 feet of a heavy mono line or a wire with a similar breaking strain to the trace before then attaching the hook.

The Long Range Beach Rig is made from 50lb (22kg) bs line 2 size 1/0 oval split rings and components of the Pro-Rig System. Bait the hook and adjust the position of the bait clip so that you can trap the bend of the hook under the clip not too tightly. Cox & Rawle use their own pro-rig boom system in this rig to bring control to the layout and help avoid tangles. Attach your hook length to the boom and then complete with your hook. A size 4/O uptide hook is supplied but you may wish to change this to suit your target. The pro-rig bait clip can be easily adjusted once you have baited your hook to secure it in a streamlined position ready for the cast.
